<p>You will be given local anaesthesia during the egg retrieval. Some women may feel some discomfort before or after egg retrieval due to the medication or the procedure itself, but it is not common to experience significant pain. Most egg donors are back to their normal lives one or a few days after the egg retrieval.</p>
<h3><span class="display-4">Is the compensation tax-free?</span></h3>
<p>Egg donation is taxable. This means that the financial compensation you receive as an egg donor must be reported as part of your total taxable income. You must report the amount to SKAT (the Danish Tax authorities) yourself.</p>
