Egg donor types and profiles at Cryos

At Cryos, you and your patients can choose between ID Release (non-anonymous) and Non-ID Release (anonymous) Egg Donors with Basic or Extended Profiles. Learn about our different egg donor types here.

Cryos’ donors represent many different phenotypes and ethnicities, and they are all very different from each other when it comes to their choice of career, characteristics, and skills. We aim to provide you and your patients with a wide selection of egg donors, but at the same time we put a lot of effort and resources in the screening and selection process so that you can rest assured that the donors at Cryos are healthy, motivated, and well-informed when it comes to the act of donation.

Here you can learn about the different egg donor types and profiles available at Cryos.

ID Release or Non-ID Release Egg Donors

In Cryos’ Egg Donor Search you and your patients will find both ID Release and Non-ID Release Donors. The difference is whether or not the donor has accepted, that children conceived from her donations can receive identifying information about her in the future. Both donor types can have either a Basic or Extended Profile.

    • An ID Release Egg Donor is also referred to as a non-anonymous or contactable donor.
    • A Non-ID Release Egg Donor is sometimes also referred to as an anonymous or non-contactable donor.

We recommend our customers to check the regulations in their treatment country before deciding on a donor, as regulatory restrictions in some countries mean that only ID Release or Non-ID Release egg Donors are allowed. In our Donor Search, the search results can be filtered to show only one or the other if relevant in the country where your clinic is placed.

    ID Release Egg Donors

Cryos’ ID Release Egg Donors have agreed to let children born from their donations contact them in the future. Children of ID Release Donors can contact Cryos after turning 18 and receive identifying information about the donor (donor’s full name, address given to Cryos and date of birth).
To receive the information about the donor, the child must be able to document that he or she is the result of a treatment with donor eggs from a specific ID Release Cryos donor. Customers can contact Cryos and receive a Donor Child Certificate that can be used for this purpose.

    Non-ID Release Egg Donors

Our Non-ID Release Donors prefer to stay anonymous, and Cryos will never reveal the identity of these donors. Patients and their children will not receive more information about Non-ID Release Donors than what is already disclosed in the donor profile.

With today’s DNA and genetic heritage services, there is a chance that children will find their donor in other ways, even if she is a Non-ID Release Donor. However, Cryos will not help in any way and recommend our customers to respect the donor’s wish to stay anonymous.

If your patients would like to know more about ID Release or Non-ID Release Egg Donors, you can refer them to this page about ID Release or Non-ID Release Egg Donors. Here we explain the differences, pros, and cons in relation to the choice between an ID Release and Non-ID Release Donor.

    Basic or Extended Profiles

Basic Profiles are shown in our Donor Search with a number such as 987, 4321 or 12345.

Egg donors with an Extended Profile are registered in our Egg Donor Search under a fictitious name such as CLARA, SALLY or ANDREA. Be aware that this is not the real name of the donor.

    Our Basic Profiles include:

    • Race and ethnicity
    • Eye and hair colour
    • Height and weight
    • Blood type
    • Education and/or profession at the time of donation

Egg Donor Profiles with Adult Photos

As an extra feature, some of our ID Release Egg Donors with Extended Profiles have photos of themselves as adults. This gives you and your patients a unique possibility to know which physical characteristics might be passed on to the child.

To see photos of the egg donors as adults, you must purchase an access that allows you to see all Adult Photos available at the time and lasts for 3 months. To see current prices of access to Adult Photos go to Prices and payment.

How to get access to see Adult Photos of Cryos donors

Access to Adult Photos can be purchased in our Egg Donor Search and via all donor profiles with Adult Photos available. Click "Buy access" in the Photos-section under each donor. Please make sure that ID Release donors are allowed in your country, before you buy access to Adult Photos.

To see how many donors with photos as adults are currently available, please use the Egg Donor Search and narrow your search to Adult Photos. All photos will be available in the donor profile from the moment the donor’s eggs are released for sale. This means that donors who are already shown on our website with an ordinary Extended Profile will not have photos added to their profile later on.
