Who can become a sperm donor?
Any man can apply to be a sperm donor, but at Cryos only 5-10% of all applicants go on to become sperm donors. Most applicants are turned down because of the quality of their sperm. To become a sperm donor, your sperm quality needs to be above average. This is because donor sperm is kept in a freezer tank at a temperature of -196 degrees centigrades. Under these conditions, it is primarily high quality sperm that is still viable for fertility treatment once it has been thawed. We welcome applications from men of all ethnicities and nationalities, and we would love to hear from you if you are interested in becoming a sperm donor.
