Why and how should I report my pregnancy?
When the pregnancy test finally shows the result that you have been hoping for, a lot of things will probably go through your mind: Is it true? Boy or girl? What will the future be like? After this, it is, however, also time to think about a few practical things. If you have conceived with the help of donor sperm from Cryos, this includes reporting your pregnancy to us. In the following, we will guide you as to how, when and why to do this.
Why should I report my pregnancy?
At Cryos, we simply love to hear about babies that are on their way. This is the best part of our job, and what gets us up in the morning! So we would, of course, love to hear from you when you become pregnant. Moreover, pregnancy reporting is important in order for us to track the number of pregnancies obtained by each of our donors. This way we are able to ensure that the Pregnancy Quota of the donor in question is not exceeded. If you have bought a Quota Reservation, it will be replaced by a place in the total quota.
How should I report my pregnancy?
If your fertility clinic has taken care of ordering straws for your treatment, the clinic will also report your pregnancy to us. If you have ordered the straws yourself, you will have to report your pregnancy to both your clinic and Cryos.
To report your pregnancy to Cryos, you should log in to your account on our website. Under “Pregnancies” it is possible to register your pregnancy. The option only appears when you have completed an order.
If you are so lucky to be pregnant with donor sperm from Cryos, we can recommend you read our blog post about childbirth and what you need to know about birth.
When should I report my pregnancy?
We recommend that you report your pregnancy to us when you have passed the first trimester of the pregnancy and before giving birth. The first trimester begins on the first day of your last period and lasts until the end of week 12.
What if I do not get pregnant?
If you do not get pregnant, nothing needs to be registered. However, if you have bought a Quota Reservation and you have no straws or embryos left, then you can have your Quota Reservation refunded by choosing “refund” under “List of Quota Reservations” on your account. If you still have straws or embryos left, you can just continue your treatment.
What if I experience a miscarriage?
In case you experience a miscarriage after having registered a pregnancy, we kindly ask you to change the status of your report to “abortion” on your account. If you have previously bought a Quota Reservation it will automatically be renewed, and you can decide whether you will keep it for future treatment with the same donor, or if you would like to have it refunded.
We hope that this answers your questions about how and why to register your pregnancy. Otherwise, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care if you have any additional questions. We look forward to receiving your pregnancy report!
