Donor sperm for IUI
IUI (Intrauterine insemination) is a relatively simple fertility treatment performed by a trained Healthcare professional. It involves placing the sperm into the uterus to increase the number of sperm cells reaching the fallopian tubes.
For IUI treatment we recommend using IUI straws.. If your clinic has confirmed that they can prepare the straws prior to the treatment, you can also choose ICI straws.. Read about the difference between IUI and ICI straws.
If you order IUI straws, we recommend ordering 1 x MOT10 (or higher) straw per insemination. Read more about sperm motility and quality here.
If you order ICI straws, that your clinic is going to prepare for IUI treatment, we recommend choosing either 4 straws with MOT5, 2 straws with MOT10 or 1 straw with MOT20.
Donor sperm for IVF
IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) is a process where the eggs are extracted from the ovaries and combined with the sperm in a laboratory. The resulting embryo(s) are then transferred into the uterus.
For IVF treatment the recommendations can vary from clinic to clinic, so we advise you to speak with your clinic before ordering.
We recommend ordering 1 x IUI straw MOT5 or higher.
Donor Sperm for ICSI
ICSI treatment (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) is a specialized form of IVF where a single sperm is injected into each egg. Like with IVF, one or more embryos are then placed into the uterus.
For ICSI, we also recommend speaking with the clinic before ordering as their recommendations can vary. Generally, 1 x MOT2 straw is enough to perform ICSI. Both IUI straws and ICI straws can be used.
Donor sperm for ICI
ICI treatment, which is short for Intra-Cervical Insemination, is the simplest fertility treatment with donor sperm. For ICI you can use both ICI and IUI straws.
We recommend using 2 x MOT10 straws. Higher MOT or more straws can be used but this is not necessary. Note that MOT5 straws are not suitable to use for intra cervical insemination.
