Not all conditions are hereditary. However, it is a fact that every human being carries a number of DNA mutations which can be associated with various disorders or conditions. If the condition described in relation to a specific donor turns out to be hereditary, this information could potentially have a significant impact on the life of individuals genetically related to the donor as well as their family members. When you have acquired this knowledge, you might have to inform family members, including sharing information about the advantages and disadvantages associated with the condition. However, it is important to remember, that a genetic or hereditary disease in a donor does not necessarily mean, that donor conceived children are affected.
