    Selection Criteria for Reference Clinics

In order to determine suitability for Cryos’ network of reference clinics, we will evaluate several relevant factors. Because of the complexity of receiving, handling, and warming oocytes, it is crucial that we work only with clinics that maintain the highest success rates in their program.

Required success rates for consideration are as follows:

      • Clinic should be above the national average in live birth rates for women <35 years of age with fresh IVF/ICSI cycles. Live birth rate of >40.1% for women <35 years of age
      • Clinic should be above the national average in live birth rate for women <35 years of age with frozen embryo transfer (FET) IVF/ICSI cycles using banked own oocytes.  Live birth rate of >43.2% for women <35 years of age
      • Clinic should be above the national average in live birth rate with frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycles (IVF/ICSI) for women <35 years of age. Live birth rate rate of >44.4.% for women <35 years of age
      • Clinic should be above the national average in live birth rates with frozen embryo transfer (FET) oocyte donor cycles with IVF/ICSI for women <35 years of age.  Live birth rate of >49.6% for women <35 years of age

As oocyte vitrification on a commercial basis is still relatively new, it is not possible to always compare warmed oocyte success rates from each clinic.  Therefore, additional criteria will be used in clinic evaluation including location of practice, years in business, number of annual cycles, personal knowledge of clinic, laboratory and staff, projected use, and Cryos’ current need of reference clinics.

(The data above is provided by 440 public and private clinics based on 190,773 treatments [IVF/ICSI - TESA/PESA included- FET and donor cycles] that have been reported to The Center for Disease Control for 2013.)
