    Andrology Lab Supervisor

     

    Cryos International USA, a leading international sperm bank with US headquarters in Orlando, is seeking a highly motivated Full-Time Laboratory Supervisor to fill a position in our new Dallas, TX location. This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of a new location. Training will be provided in our Orlando, FL and Raleigh, NC offices. Travel and expenses for training will be covered.

    Key elements of this position are quality, production, distribution, and service. The position requires great attention to detail and strict adherence to company laboratory procedures. The candidate should have the ability to work systematically and independently once trained. Previous experience in andrology is preferred but not required. Licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Medical Technologist in combination with previous supervisory experience is preferred.

    This is a supervisory position.

    Hours will be Monday – Friday and may require some work after hours. Excellent benefit package with major holidays off.

    Key Responsibilities and Expectations

    Work with human resources and management to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ an appropriate number of employees to staff the laboratory

    Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning.

    Consciously create a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall organization's and that emphasizes the identified mission, vision, guiding principles, and values of the organization.

    Lead employees using a performance management and development process that provides an overall context and framework to encourage employee contribution and includes SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely), feedback, and performance development planning.

    Maintain employee work schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, vacations, paid time off, cover for absenteeism, and overtime scheduling.

    Manage the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities of the department.

    Counseling of donors and client depositors

    Responsible for overseeing all andrology laboratory functions including processing, storage, and shipping.

    Stock handling and specimen inventory maintenance

    Manage donor testing and assure results are recorded in company database

    Review monthly Quality control for adherence to QC guidelines and ensure the quality of all aspects of the laboratory are being met.

    Adhere to laboratory's quality control policies; document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed

    Assist upper management with various projects

    Work with manager to ensure production goals are met for each donor specimen and identify ways to improve and meet production goals.

    Instructs laboratory personnel on handling of substandard donor specimens.

    Interprets results that may affect quality.

    General laboratory duties and maintenance including constructing, maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment i.e. centrifuges, titrations, pipets, and fume hoods

    Maintaining traceability of specimens.

    Follow the laboratory established policies and procedures and ensure all personnel are performing established procedures

    Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and ensure that problems are corrected according to strict policies and procedures

    Maintain laboratory stock, inventory, and ordering supplies when necessary

    Maintain quality assurance and identify areas for QA improvement

    Perform other duties as assigned​
