More than 35 years ago, Cryos’ founder, Ole Schou, had a strange dream about frozen sperm. This dream inspired him to eventually start Cryos - today a well-known and widely recognized international sperm and egg bank with several locations in Denmark, the US, UK, and Cyprus. With the help of altruistic young men and women, we supply frozen donor sperm and donor eggs to people all over the world who need help to conceive.

In addition to the joy of helping others, you receive up to 500 DKK per donation in sperm donor compensation, free health checks, and free training if you donate sperm regularly.
What we do at Cryos
At our sperm bank locations in Denmark, Cryos collects sperm donations from men who meet our sperm donor requirements and wish to help others make their dream of having a child come true. The sperm is then analysed and processed in the lab to ensure that it is high-quality and ready for use in fertility treatment.
From the beginning, Cryos has specialised in the cryopreservation of sperm, which means the sperm is frozen in thin straws and safely stored in a nitrogen tank at -196 °C. But as the technology behind oocyte (egg) vitrification evolved and improved, it was only natural for Cryos to expand and include donor eggs in the donor programme as well. In 2015 we opened our first egg bank in the US, and in 2020 we opened a sperm and egg bank in Cyprus too.
Why use an egg or sperm bank?
The demand for donor sperm and donor eggs is high. Due to many people struggling with infertility and a greater acceptance and diverse family structures, there has been a significant development in this area in recent years. At Cryos we help people all over the world become parents with help from a donor.
To help people choose an egg or sperm donor that matches their needs and preferences, all our donors are represented by an online donor profile – an (anonymous) introduction to the person behind the donation.
