How should we advise our patients regarding future contact with ID Release Donors?
Children can receive identifying information about an ID Release Donor at the age of 18. They must be able to document or render probable that they are the result of conception with donor sperm from a specific Cryos ID Release Donor. The identifying information that will then be released consists of the donor’s full name, address given to Cryos and date of birth. Cryos’ donors have relinquished all parental rights. So a donor can never assume paternal rights nor can clients claim paternity of the donor for child support.
ID Release sperm donors have agreed to be contacted by the donor conceived children only. Parents are never allowed to contact the donor. Clients have signed our terms of agreement and consent to abiding by the above rules regarding this matter.
