How old do you have to be to donate sperm?

At Cryos, you must be at least 18 years old to become a sperm donor. If you have turned 18 and want to read more about the process of becoming a sperm donor, then follow the link.

Why your age is important as a sperm donor

An age requirement is important because we want to make sure that our donors are mature enough to understand what it means to be a sperm donor, as well as have high-quality sperm. At Cryos, it is not possible to become a sperm donor if you are above the age of 44. According to studies, sperm quality decreases as you become older and after the age of 45. As a result, we have chosen to limit the age of our donors.

Other requirements

Besides the age requirement, there are other physical and medical requirements you must fulfill. To become a sperm donor, you must also meet the requirements below:

  • Be within a one-hour drive of our facility.
