Who needs donor sperm?
Many types of people need donor sperm to fulfil their dream of a child. Here are the three most common:
- Lesbian couples
- Single women
- Heterosexual couples struggling with infertility
How does sperm donation work?
Sperm donation is very simple: A man donates his sperm, which is then used in fertility treatment to help people fulfil their dream of a child. Before being accepted as donors, all men must complete a thorough screening process to ensure the safety of the recipients and future children.

How to apply as a sperm donor
The first step to becoming a sperm donor is to send an application to the sperm bank you wish to apply to. Once you have submitted your application you will be called in for a clinical examination to assess the quality of your sperm, as well as your mental and physical health. The screening aims to minimise the risk of potential diseases being transferred to the recipients of the donor sperm. You can be accepted as a sperm donor when your sperm quality has been tested and you have been screened for diseases. After that, you will be able to start donating sperm.
