Sperm donors with a worldwide quota

We offer sperm donors with worldwide quotas, where the use of each donor is limited to either 15 or 50 families worldwide.

As a licensed sperm bank, we strictly comply with any national regulations regarding family limits. In addition to these national limits - which may vary from country to country - we have set worldwide limits of 15 and 50 families for some of our donors. Learn more about this option below.

What is a Worldwide Quota Reservation?

When a donor has a worldwide quota of 15 or 50 families, it means that no more than 15 or 50 families globally can have children conceived using sperm from that donor. When you or your patient order donor sperm from one of these donors, your patient will reserve her spot as one of these families. Each of these families can have more than one child using the donor.

Sperm donor options with family limits

      • Worldwide Quota Reservation for 15 families: Can be used by up to 15 families
      • Worldwide Quota Reservation for 50 families: Can be used by up to 50 families

For patients who prefer a donor whose donations can be used only by their family, we offer the option of Donor Exclusivity. Learn more about Donor Exclusivity here.

Why choose a donor with a worldwide quota?

While not all our sperm donors have a worldwide quota, the majority of our donors are rarely used in more than 50 families. In practice, most donors are matched with far fewer families than this limit.

A worldwide quota is an optional add-on that provides full transparency about a donor’s maximum number of family matches, offering added clarity and reassurance for those who prefer a clearly defined upper limit.

How to find donors with a worldwide quota for 15 or 50 families

Simply use the filter in our free online Donor Search to view these donors. You can easily identify the quota limit (15 or 50 families) by looking for the icon in the top-left corner of the donor’s profile.

Refund policy for a Worldwide Quota Reservation

We understand that things do not always go as planned, and if your patient does not become pregnant and no longer have straws or embryos left, the reserved Worldwide Quota Reservation can be refunded within the first 3 years after purchase. To request a refund, please contact us. To ensure a safe and transparent process, refunds are confirmed in collaboration with the clinic.

As the refund expiration date approaches, we will send an email notification with a reminder to either terminate the quota reservation and request a refund or register a pregnancy if treatment has been successful.

      Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a Worldwide Quota Reservation and a standard Quota Reservation?
The worldwide quota sets a fixed maximum number of families globally per donor (15 or 50), while our standard Quota Reservation system is subject to national regulations that may vary by country.

How is the number of families counted?

A family is counted when a patient – or a clinic on their behalf - order donor sperm from a donor with a worldwide quota for 15 or 50 families. A Worldwide Quota Reservation is automatically added to the order, securing their place among these families.

Once 15 or 50 families hold a Worldwide Quota Reservation for a donor, no new families can order sperm from that particular donor. If a family later terminates their Worldwide Quota Reservation because they do not become pregnant and decide to try with another sperm donor instead, their place becomes available to another family.

When a pregnancy or birth is registered, the Worldwide Quota Reservation becomes permanent and can no longer be terminated.

Please note that a family can have more than one child with the same donor.
