At Cryos, the cost of donor sperm for one round of fertility treatment starts at EUR 110 (VAT not included). This is the price of IVF-ready donor sperm from a Non-ID Release donor with a Basic Profile.
In general, two factors influence the total cost of using a sperm donor to conceive:
- Donor sperm costs: At Cryos, the price per sperm straw varies from EUR 38 to EUR 1.911 (VAT not included). The donor sperm costs depend on your choice of donor and sperm quality. Often, the donor sperm costs will be in the price range EUR 110 to EUR 626 if you are having IVF, and EUR 215 to EUR 882 if you are having IUI.
- Price of fertility treatment: The fertility treatment costs vary significantly from country to country and clinic to clinic. In general, intrauterine insemination (IUI) is less invasive and therefore less expensive than in vitro fertilization (IVF). In UK, you must expect the cost of IUI to start around EUR 1,150 per round of treatment, and the cost of IVF to start around EUR 3,500 per round. However, due to the significant variation in prices, we recommend that you research the fertility clinics close to you, to create an overview of the total cost of fertility treatment at each clinic.
Before you begin treatment, we also recommend that you research whether you are eligible for fertility treatment in the public healthcare system, as this often helps reduce the total cost of using a sperm donor.
Below you can learn more about the costs of purchasing donor sperm from Cryos and the costs of optional add-ons and services such as Adult Photos, Genetic Matching, shipping, etc. We hope that the information about price can help guide you in your process of using a sperm donor to fulfil your dream.

Frequently asked questions about sperm bank prices
How much does sperm cost?
At Cryos, the price of donor sperm for one round of treatment starts at EUR 110 (VAT not included). However, the cost of donor sperm depends on factors such as the type of donor profile, whether the donor has agreed to be contacted in the future, as well as the sperm motility, and the type of sperm straw. You will also have to pay for the delivery of the sperm to your fertility clinic. Read more about what sperm motility is needed for fertility treatment here.
How much does it cost to use a sperm donor?
The total cost of using a sperm donor for fertility treatment such as ICI or ICSI treatment includes expenses to your clinic, medication, and donor sperm. The cost varies a lot depending on your donor choice, as it is possible to pay to see more information about the sperm donors and which type of treatment you are having - and where. Some countries offer government-funded fertility treatment, but in most countries, you will have to cover the expenses yourself.
How much are sperm donors paid for their donations?
Because of legislation that varies from country to country, sperm donors are not paid for their sperm donations. Instead, they are financially compensated for their time and effort when donating. Since Cryos' sperm donation facilities are located in Denmark, we act under danish regulation, which means that we can provide the donor with 200 - 500 DKK (28 - 67 Euro).
