The journey towards parenthood often takes unexpected turns. At Cryos, we want to help people fulfil their dreams of a child. Usually, we help people through sperm donation, but we can also help you conceive through other services like testing and storing your sperm, or by using a Known Donor.
Sperm storage
Freezing and storing your sperm is what we call sperm storage. By storing your own sperm, you preserve your ability to conceive for years to come. Some of the most common reasons for sperm storage are listed below:
- Considering a vasectomy
- Facing serious medical treatment
- Safeguarding your ability to reproduce
If you wish to store your sperm at Cryos, please contact one of our departments in Aarhus, Aalborg, Copenhagen, or Odense to make an appointment. If you have any questions regarding sperm storage, follow the link to read more about the process or contact Cryos.
Sperm quality test
A sperm quality test may be relevant if you and your partner have tried to conceive for a while without luck. In 1/3 of infertility cases, the problem is caused by malfunctions in the male reproductive system. Therefore, having your sperm tested may prove to be a helpful insight, when trying to assess your options. If it turns out that your sperm quality is low, there may be things you can do to improve it, or other options to consider, such as fertility treatment.
If your sperm quality is normal, but you and your partner struggle to conceive, you may need to have your partner's fertility tested, to find out whether you need help to improve your chances of conception.
Use a Known Sperm Donor
Fertility treatment with donor sperm from a Known Donor implies that a woman or a couple finds a man that wants to donate his sperm to help them fulfil their dream of a child. The donor is somehow known to the woman or couple receiving the sperm – it may be a friend who wants to help, or maybe you are two people who are not romantically involved but still wish to have a child together.
Cryos offers help with the Known Donor-process and cooperates with selected Danish clinics on this. Known Donors are screened to minimize the risk of transferring diseases from the sperm donor to the woman or child.
